Performance & Capabilities
The standard engine with your Cherokee is a
180-horsepower 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine that comes paired to a nine-speed
automatic transmission. There are two available larger engines, including a
3.2-liter V6 that offers 271-horsepower and the all-new engine is a 2.-liter
turbocharged four-cylinder engine offering 270-horsepower. This engine comes
standard with start-stop technology to boost efficiency even more.
Not only is the Cherokee a capable daily-driver for
Traverse City, but can also tow a maximum of 4,500-pounds when properly
equipped. That's more than many rivals in the class. Each new Cherokee comes
standard with front-wheel drive, though you'll have the option to add three
available four-wheel drive systems. These include the Jeep Active Drive I, Jeep
Active Drive II, and the Jeep Active Drive Lock systems.
Interior & Cargo
The Cherokee offers two rows of comfortable seating
for five inside. Cloth upholstery is standard along with features like air
conditioning, soft-touch surfaces all throughout and features like a storage
compartment underneath the cargo floor for secure storage of smaller items.
You'll also find the new standard infotainment screen with a new 7-inch
touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and more. You'll also love how you
can use the touchscreen's pinch-to-zoom capability to make navigating menus
even easier. You can upgrade your infotainment system to an 8.4-inch
touchscreen, as well as add navigation and satellite radio.
New for this year, you'll find even more cargo
space behind the rear seats. Total cargo volume behind the rear seats reaches
25.8 cubic feet, and if you fold the rear seats full down you'll open up a
spacious 75.8 cubic feet. Another helpful feature is the unique storage
compartment underneath the cargo floor. This compartment lets you securely and
discreetly store your smaller and valuable items out of sight.
